NEWBEAT is releasing their first full-length album “RAW AND RAD” at the same time as their debut.
The album contains 11 songs, including the previously released “JeLLo” and “HICCUPS,” as well as the title track “Flip the Coin” and “Highs&Lows” (Hi&Love), which can only be heard on the CD.
The title track, “Flip the Coin,” is an authentic old-school ’90s tune that starts with a dark bassline and features a variety of sampled sounds, groovy, punchy drums, and a catchy hook melody.
“EVERYTHING HAS DUALITY JUST LIKE ME.” (Everything has duality.)
“Flip the Coin” tells the story of the duality of the world – that good and bad coexist like two sides of a coin – from the perspective of boys.
The story is about the duality of their inner and outer worlds, and the positive situations that can be found when they flip all the negativity, temptation, and hurt they experience, as they experience one positive situation after another.
The album’s intro and outro were produced by Maalib to set the tone for the songs. In particular, track 1, “Intro: RAW AND RAD (feat. Khundi Panda) (Prod. Maalib),” features a rap feature by Khundi Panda in addition to Maalib’s production.
Track 7, “F.L.Y (Fu**ing Lovely, Lonely Youth) (Prod. LIMHYUNSIK),” was written, composed, and recorded by B.T.O.B’s Lim Hyun Sik himself, adding even more depth to the song’s emotion.
NEWBEAT will strongly imprint their own personality and musical color through this debut album and first full-length album [RAW AND RAD]. We are also looking forward to their future endeavors, including their own worldview and albums that reflect it.
